The application process

When can I apply?

You can apply for our graduate programme in the months of September and October.

Can I apply for more than one position?

When you have decided which area of the business you would like to work in, select the relevant link on the Graduate programme application page. Complete only one application. If you would like to be considered for another area or have a second preference, note this on your application or inform our Graduate Recruitment team.

How do I add my Leaving Certificate subjects to the application?

We have included a section in the application to record your subject results. Due to the large number of subjects, some are grouped together.

  • “Language” includes French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Italian etc.
  • “Business studies” includes economics, business, accounting, etc.
  • “Technology sciences” includes technology, engineering, home economics, design and communication graphics and construction studies.
  • “Laboratory sciences” includes physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, and physics and chemistry combined.
  • Irish, geography and history are not grouped.
  • If a subject you have completed is not listed, please select “Other”.

How do I submit my application?

You can learn more about the application process here.

How will I know if my completed application has been successfully received?

You will receive a confirmation email once your online application form has been successfully submitted. You can also log-in to our recruitment system at any time to track your application.

I applied before but was unsuccessful. Can I apply again?

We would be happy to receive an application from you if you have applied before. We ask that you wait until the next graduate intake before reapplying.

After you apply

How will I know if I have been successful?

We will contact you after the closing date if you have been selected for an interview. You will have an opportunity to select a time slot for your interview, and we will also invite you to a pre-interview event to learn more about us, the graduate programme and your chosen area of the business.

Will I be notified if I'm not selected for the position I applied for?

Yes. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified via email as soon as possible.

Will my interview take place in person?

You will have the option to be interviewed in our offices, or virtually via Google Meets. We will provide you with more details closer to the time.

How can I prepare for my interview?

A good way to prepare for your interview is to read our Employability Guide. It contains hints and tips to help you stand out from the crowd.

Before your interview, you will be asked to complete an online psychometric test. As for the interview itself, we will talk to you about how you arrived at your career choice. We will also look to see how well you understand our business and services, and discuss how you work and communicate with others.

When you join

Can I take a year out before joining?

It is possible to take a year out before taking up your position with us, and every request is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If you intend to take a year out after college, please let us know at your interview.

When will I start?

Your graduate programme will start in Autumn 2024. We issue successful candidates with specific onboarding details closer to the start date.

What kind of package will I get when I join?

PwC’s new benefits programme, ‘Your Choice’, launched this year. With Your Choice, the decisions are yours, unlocking the value of all the benefits on offer in a way that suits you. Our goal is to ensure that our people feel appreciated and rewarded throughout their career with us. Our benefits include our award-winning training and development programme and paid study leave, while our recognition programme means you are recognised and celebrated throughout the year. We support you to do your best work, where, when and how it makes most sense through our approach to flexibility. We value wellbeing, and our ‘Be Well, Work Well’ programme  provides a number of supports and resources on all aspects of wellbeing—from our private health insurance allowance to one-to-one sessions with psychologists and  nutritionists, there is something for everyone. We also have a range of fitness classes, seminars and workshops and, of course, our state-of-the-art gym in our offices at One Spencer Dock.

Do I get time off to study for my exams?

If you are studying for professional qualifications in Tax and Assurance, you will get 8-12 weeks of paid study leave. You can also build up overtime throughout the year and take it as extra leave, or additional pay.

What kind of exam support will I receive?

We provide a range of support ahead of your professional exams. We hold information sessions to give you a clear picture of what to expect in your exams, and you will learn from colleagues who have completed the same exams and achieved brilliant marks. Mock exams will allow you to become familiar with the exam structure, while professional lecturers will provide comprehensive revision sessions.
