Tom Corbett

Tom Corbett is a partner in our tax services practice and specialises in customs and VAT.

Tom is the leader of our customs, excise and international trade practice which provides advice on customs and excise duties, related regulatory requirements and export controls both in Ireland and throughout the EU and emerging markets in collaboration with out network colleagues.

Tom also advises a broad selection of indigenous and international clients on a wide range of VAT issues. He has advised extensively on the VAT implications of corporate restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Before joining PwC, Tom worked in the Revenue Commissioners, consulting and also practised as a Barrister in the Irish Courts.

Tom is a Barrister at Law and an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.

Damian McCarthy

Damian has over 30 years experience in advising companies on customs, excise and trade (including export controls) issues. He is a former PwC partner, having led PwC Ireland’s customs and trade practice for the last 25 years.

He has carried out extensive consultancy assignments for a wide range of national and multinational clients and has led various cross-border and pan- European initiatives aimed at reducing companies’ duty costs, minimising their risks and enhancing market access for their products. He has successfully pursued clients’ interests in both national courts and before the European Court of Justice.

He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Customs and Trade Regulations and a member of IBEC’s Trade Council, which he represents on the Revenue Commissioners’ Customs Consultative Committee.

Prior to joining PwC, Damian worked with the Irish Revenue Commissioners.

Anne Williams

Anne has over 13 years experience with PwC, having advised companies across a broad range of customs, excise and trade issues. Prior to joining PwC, Anne worked with both the EU Commission and the Irish Revenue Commissioners.

While Anne’s specialism is tariff classification, she also has significant experience in duty planning, supply chain restructuring, customs compliance and audits, duty reliefs, export controls, customs appeals (at national and European level) and lobbying of national and international bodies.

Anne’s portfolio of clients includes those in the food, agricultural, pharma and high technology sectors.

Anne is also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Customs and Trade Regulations.
