| Impact for business: Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation On 16 December 2011 the Protocol on Russia’s accession was adopted at the 8th World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial Conference. Russia will join the WTO 30 days after the Russian Parliament ratifies the WTO accession documents. It is expected that Russia will become a WTO member by August 2012. Russia's WTO accession will result in immediate or phased reductions of customs duty rates for products imported to Russia and other simplifications of customs requirements. |
