Garvan O'Neill

Garvan O’Neill is a partner in PwC’s financial services practice in Dublin

Garvan has over 20 years of experience in providing services to insurance, banking and capital market companies in Ireland. He has advised a range of life assurance, non-life insurance, reinsurance, investment intermediary, broker and banking operations, both international and Irish, on a wide variety of matters including strategy, establishment, solvency requirements, product design and investment structures. He leads PwC’s regulatory advisory practice and PwC’s pension group in Ireland.

Garvan has been the audit partner on a wide range of key industry players both in the domestic and cross-border international financial services sector.

Garvan is a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Regulatory Advisory Leadership Team and is a lead member on the European steering committee to develop solutions to address the challenges created for companies by Solvency II. He is a regular speaker and presenter on regulatory issues facing the financial services industry and is regularly published, most recently on the governance requirements of Solvency II.

Garvan is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a B Comm and Dip. Prof. Acc. from University College Dublin.

Ken Owens

Ken Owens is a partner in the audit practice and specialises in the asset management industry.

Ken has extensive knowledge and experience advising clients including UCITS funds, hedge funds and private equity funds administered in Ireland.

Ken leads the PwC Dublin asset management regulatory practice and has led a number of regulatory projects advising clients in relation to: the establishment UCITS funds and non-UCITS funds; anti-money laundering compliance; compliance function effectiveness; investment firm authorisation; capital adequacy requirements; and cross border outsourcing. Ken is currently helping clients to address the implementation issues arising from the new UCITS IV directive.

Ken is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Ken is a member of Irish Fund Industry Association's Governing Council and is also a member of the Investment Funds Listing Committee of the Irish Stock Exchange.

Ciarán Kelly

Ciarán Kelly is a partner in the advisory practice and specialises in change and programme management, performance improvement, revenue growth and information technology. Since joining PwC in 1999, Ciarán has delivered major change projects for clients across a number of sectors including financial services, retail & consumer goods, public sector & healthcare and technology.

Ciarán also works closely with our transaction services team, advising clients on operational, technical and commercial aspects of mergers, acquisition, carve-outs.

Prior to joining PwC in 1999, Ciarán worked in the financial services industry in operational, technology and project management roles.
