PwC is celebrating a record-breaking year of success with Ireland's top accountancy exams. Not only have members of the PwC team been awarded the top place for the second year running in Final Admitting Examinations (FAEs) but this year, they have also secured six of the top ten positions for highest exam results, all on their first attempt. PwC has 253 newly qualified accountants today, with a pass rate of 92%, seven points ahead of the national average of 85%.
Top-awarded FAE recipients are:
The Chartered Accountancy Ireland Final Admitting Examinations (FAE) are the culmination of three to four years working to secure this qualification through a combination of these professional exams and practical accounting experience.
With Caroline's top placement in the exams, she also wins the Ulster Society Diamond Jubilee Award and Gold Medal. This Gold Medal is a rare achievement with only 25 being awarded in the last 131 years. This is the second year in a row that a member of the PwC team has been awarded this Gold Medal.
The news today continues to build on PwC's track record for securing top ten exam placements in chartered accountancy. Last year, PwC secured five of the top 10 places including first place and consistently secured results well above the national pass rate every year.
As one of Ireland's top graduate employers, recruiting around 350 graduates every year, PwC provides a multi-year programme of exam and training support for those who decide to undertake these professional level qualifications. This exam and training support has also been an award winner in its own right, securing silver and gold positions for the Gradireland Training and Development award in the last two years.
Speaking to the exam results, Managing Partner Feargal O'Rourke said, "At our core, PwC is a learning organisation so results days like these are so important to us. This has been, of course, a very challenging year for our people sitting exams—and these are incredible results in incredible circumstances. A huge congratulations to our team for their success today—and to those who have supported them with this work. As a firm that focuses on skills and and talent, days like this endorse our investment in education and in digital skills".
