The PwC Irish Economic Crime Survey 2018 is conducted every two years and is part of a comprehensive global initiative, gathering valuable data from more than 7,200 respondents across 123 countries. In Ireland, some 80 organisations participated, representing all key sectors and industries.
The survey highlights that financial crime and fraud is a major business issue. Almost half of Irish organisations revealed that they had suffered an economic crime or fraud in the last two years. While this is reported crime, the fraud that may not be known or reported is equally as important.
The question is not, is my organisation the victim of financial or cyber crime, It is how aware am I of financial crime impacting my organisation?
