Before you apply

What internships are available?

Paid summer internships are available with our Assurance, Consulting, Deals Advisory, Risk Assurance and Tax teams.

Where are PwC’s offices in Ireland?

We have offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Waterford and Wexford.

Must I have studied accountancy or business to join PwC?

No. We accept summer internship applications from students in all disciplines.

What is the preferred education level to qualify for an application?

You must be on track for, or have achieved, a 2.1 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

What kind of skills are you looking for?

We look for people who can demonstrate:

  • Flexibility: can you handle changing priorities and workloads?
  • Courage and integrity: are you always up for a challenge and willing to do the right thing by clients and colleagues?
  • Curiosity and creativity: are you hungry to learn, share and innovate?

The application process

What is the closing date for applications?

The programme is currently closed for applications.

Can I apply for more than one position?

You can choose which area of the business you would like to intern in and express a preference for your second choice.

I applied before and was unsuccessful. Can I apply again?

Yes, we would be happy to receive an application from you if you have applied before.

How do I make my application?

You simply register online and follow the steps to submit your application (a registration link will be available once the application window is open). Let us know why you are interested in working with us and why you chose a certain department. We also love to hear about any hobbies or interests you have that give us an insight into you and your personality.

How do I add my Leaving certificate subjects to the application?

We have included a section in the application to record your subject results. Due to the large number of subjects, some are grouped together.

  • “Language” includes French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Italian etc.
  • “Business studies” includes economics, business, accounting, etc.
  • “Technology sciences” includes technology, engineering, home economics, design and communication graphics and construction studies.
  • “Laboratory sciences” includes physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, and physics and chemistry combined.
  • Irish, geography and history are not grouped.
  • If a subject you have completed is not listed, please select “Other”.

How will I know if you received my application?

You will receive a confirmation email once you submit your online application form. You will also be able to log in to our recruitment system at any time to track your application.


After you apply

How will I know if I've been successful?

Successful candidates will be called for an interview soon after the closing date. The interview will take place either virtually or in-person at your chosen PwC office.

Will I be told if I'm not selected for the position I applied for?

Yes, we notify unsuccessful candidates via email.

How can I prepare for my interview?

Your internship work experience

What will I do?

As part of a team that works directly for a manager or partner in the firm, you will be exposed to everything that goes on in our dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will take part in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities with various charity organisations and our employability programme, which teaches soft skills, teamwork and presentation skills. You will also receive, and react to, personal development feedback throughout your internship.

What will I learn?

You will learn a variety of professional and personal skills, including:

  • Digital, innovation and creative skills as part of our Digital Academy. You will also become familiar with the internal programs and applications we use to support our client work.
  • People skills including relationship building, collaboration, working in teams, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Soft skills including presentation skills, time management, personal responsibility and assertiveness.
  • Research, reporting and business writing skills.
  • Social media and social networking skills.

Where can I intern?

You can complete your summer internship in our Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and South East (Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford) offices. You also have a choice of specialist areas depending on the location:

  • Dublin: Assurance, Consulting, Deals Advisory, Risk Assurance and Tax.
  • Cork: Assurance, Risk Assurance and Tax.
  • Limerick and Galway: Assurance, Risk Assurance and Tax.
  • South East: Assurance and Tax.
