PwC has sponsored the GAA/GPA since 2012. In 2017, we increased our commitment by sponsoring the PwC All-Stars. The partnership strengthens PwC's support for Irish sport, celebrating excellence and recognising individual talent.
The PwC All-Stars mark competitiveness and success on the pitch, but also preparation, bravery and sacrifice away from it. The Awards reflect PwC's own approach to supporting transformation in business, where similar qualities are demanded. Everything that makes a PwC All-Star exceptional applies to successful leaders in business.
The sponsorship encompasses a wide programme of recognition for the country's top intercounty players. The PwC All-Star awards ceremony takes place annually to recognise the best in GAA talent through the year. The PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards take place from April to September for both footballers and hurlers and are voted for by the players.
Over the last five decades the All-Stars have grown into one of the most prestigious fixtures on the Irish sporting calendar and an awards scheme that carries enormous respect and honour. So many legends of hurling and football have been honoured with an All-Star and it's always clear to see how much it means to them, their families, their clubs and their counties. One of the strengths of the PwC All-Stars is that it honours the best individual performers in each position and not just the players from the strongest counties. All-Stars are not only outstanding individual players, but also integral parts of the teams they play on and values such as determination and teamwork, are also held closely at PwC. We look forward to marking this 50th anniversary year with a number of special events, leading up to the announcement of the 2021 PwC All-Stars.
Henry Shefflin and Pat Spillane, the most decorated hurling and football All-Stars respectively, Tadhg de Búrca and Paul Mannion were at Croke Park to mark the special 50th anniversary year of the awards. For all the latest PwC All-Stars news check out the articles below.
