Driving social impact and inclusion.

Social Impact

Group of volunteers

At PwC, making an impact in society means creating positive change by addressing social injustices and challenges.

We aim to be inclusive, helping all groups, especially those who are most marginalised, by providing equal opportunities to people within our communities. True belonging goes beyond inclusion. It’s about creating a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to do their best.

Doone O’Doherty

“Prioritising social impact in PwC’s firm strategy allows us to make a tangible difference in our community while fostering a sense of purpose among our people. It’s about contributing positively to society and creating a better world for everyone as well as committing to being part of the solution and making a lasting positive impact.”

Giving Charity partners

We aim to strengthen ties with our communities and support the most marginalised. Over the next three years, our charity partners will be Focus Ireland, specifically their PETE programme, and Simon Northern Ireland’s accommodation projects. We provide financial support directly to support their programmes and also to assist our colleagues in their fundraising for both charities through our matched funding programme.

ChangeX

In 2024, PwC launched a €100,000 community fund with ChangeX to support inclusive and sustainable projects across Ireland. This fund empowers people and teams to lead local projects promoting inclusion, equitable access, skills development and sustainability. The partnership with ChangeX ensures funding and resources reach those ready to lead impactful projects, and  highlights PwC’s commitment to positive change across Irish communities PwC has renewed this fund for another year in 2025.

Our impact areas

Our efforts focus on four key pillars: giving, education, community partnerships and equitable opportunities.

We provide financial support directly to their programmes and assist our colleagues in fundraising through our matched funding programme.

In 2025, PwC announced the second community fund with ChangeX to support inclusive and sustainable projects across Ireland. Education

We are dedicated to supporting educational initiatives that empower students at various stages of their academic journey.

Our Empowering Futures Programme, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Ireland and NEIC, supports post-primary students with mentorship and financial aid as they progress through education into employment.

Our Access Pathways programme, developed with Access offices in third-level institutions, offers industry insights and mentoring for current students. And our Women In Tech Network and Tech We Can initiative, in partnership with Connecting Women in Technology, aims to inspire primary schoolchildren, especially girls, to explore tech careers by linking technology to their hobbies and interests.

Community partnerships

Our community partnerships are designed to foster business and skills education, early learning and career readiness.

We have partnered with Junior Achievement for over 25 years, supporting business and skills education in more than 600 schools nationwide. We also support the National College of Ireland’s Early Learning Initiative, which offers parent and child learning through innovative programmes like ParentChild+. Career LEAP helps at-risk young adults enter the workplace or transition to further education by developing essential skills and preparing businesses to work effectively with interns.

Dublin North East Inner City (NEIC) is a government initiative focused on regenerating Dublin’s inner city. PwC hosts work experience weeks for local secondary school students and has supported NEIC in developing its strategy.
