What will I actually do if I choose assurance?

You’ll become part of the team that audits the financial statements of the most top 100 companies in Ireland, as well as thousands of other organisations.

Which part of Assurance should I choose?

Over 1,000 professionals work in three separate sectors;

Banking & Insurance: Clients include domestic banks, building societies, IFSC banks, corporate treasury vehicles and large treasury centres

Asset Wealth Management: Clients include global investment management companies, fund administrators, custodians and investment funds

International & Domestic Business: This group provides services to every sector of the economy outside of financial services; this includes the largest share of technology, communications, pharmaceutical, retail, not for profit and consumer companies in Ireland

What will my day-to-day role involve?

You’ll hit the ground running with hands-on work. By joining a team working at a client site or in the office, you’ll interview key contacts, check that data is accurate and question any differences. You’ll work with all kinds of clients and apply what you learned in college, at the training you received in your first week and from the on the job coaching you’ll receive.  It’s fact-finding work that often involves one-to-one meetings with financial controllers and finance directors.  As finance is at the heart of every organisation you’ll constantly find yourself growing your knowledge of how businesses operate.

You’ll be reviewing records and putting together reports on everything from suppliers to bank records and from company cars to personnel. You’ll also assist the senior staff and managers in ensuring our key deliverable, the review of the financial statements, is robust and accurate.  You’ll develop your communication, project management, business awareness and coaching skills. You’ll get a feel for the different opportunities we offer. You’ll need to be able to deliver an exceptional standard of client service, all while inspiring teams and helping to deliver the firm’s strategy.  This may seem daunting but you’ll have lots of support along the way.
