What information is required for the Central Register of Beneficial Ownership?

08 September, 2022

The Central Register of Beneficial Ownership (RBO) requires all companies to file details of their Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) publicly with them. The register opened on 29 July 2019 and new companies have five months from the date of incorporation to make their filing. Existing companies must complete any updates within 14 days of the change.

Gathering this information can be time-consuming. While it has always been a requirement to have this information readily available in an internal register, not all organisations maintain an up-to-date version.

If not already completed, an internal register should be created and companies must be ready to upload their UBO information to the Central Register.
