Your graduate career path

Training and development

Your graduate career path with PwC is paved with opportunity. You take control of your development from day one. If there's an area you want to upskill in, you have the freedom to take the reins and empower yourself.

Our graduate programme combines formal training, mentoring and most importantly, practical on-the-job experience. Ongoing feedback and coaching will be an integral part of your career.

You will learn a wide range of business, personal and technical skills that will help you take your career to the next level. You can expect to lead teams and grow your management ability. As you develop, rewards come in the form of grade and salary progression.

Your onboarding experience introduces you to life at PwC and supports you as a new joiner. From a guided tour of your new workplace to technical training and social events, your onboarding experience will set you up for success.

Year 01

From day one, you'll gain invaluable experience, working with real clients. You'll enjoy direct access to senior staff and leadership. We support you in obtaining your professional qualifications with exam tutorials, mentoring and paid study leave.

We support your development with a dedicated buddy, a coach and our extensive peer network. Your buddy—a colleague one year your senior in the company—will be there to answer any questions you might have. They'll also share their first-hand knowledge and experience. Your coach will help you chart your path through PwC and support you in meeting your career goals.

Year 02

In your second year, you'll strengthen your people management skills as you begin to coach others and build your own team. You'll deepen your client experience and industry knowledge. You'll be able to deliver more sophisticated solutions to your clients. You'll give and receive ongoing feedback to help improve your own and your team's performance. Your personal network will expand as you make connections across our global network. You'll continue to receive our full support as you study for your professional qualifications.

Year 03

As you deepen your industry insight, you'll get the chance to spread your wings. You can expect to lead teams, deliver training and collaborate with your global peers. There are secondment opportunities globally and with your clients. In addition to obtaining your final professional qualifications, you'll take part in conversations about advancing your career as you progress through the firm.

Your journey continues

As you progress towards manager level, you'll enhance your professional and technical skills in our business academy. You'll get the opportunity to decide where you think your unique abilities can bring the most value. You can choose between different industries, service lines and international locations. Our global network is yours to leverage. Think beyond your horizon and take full advantage of all the opportunities of working with us.

Professional qualifications

Passing your professional exams is a pivotal step on your career path. Everyone at PwC will support you on this journey. We have a dedicated Learning and Development team who are there to help you every step of the way.

Information sessions will give you a clear picture of what to expect in your exams. You'll learn from colleagues who have completed the same exams and achieved brilliant marks. Mock exams will allow you to become familiar with the exam structure. Professional lecturers will provide comprehensive revision sessions. With our combination of in-house and external exam support, you will be well on your way to achieving a first rate result.

Exam success

PwC is synonymous with exam success. Every year, our pass rates are higher than the national average, a testament to the quality of exam support we provide to our people. We are always proud to see PwC staff among the top-placing candidates.

The FAE exam completes the qualification of a Chartered Accountant. In last year's FAE results, PwC's exam pass rate was 91%. The national pass rate was 80%.

Secondment opportunities

The worldwide PwC network has the same dedication to your development as we do. That means that when you join us, you get access to our vast global network which spans 157 countries. We believe gaining international experience is invaluable. We encourage and support our people to spread their wings and explore secondment opportunities abroad.

We know that consistent, constructive feedback is essential for your development. Regular conversations about your performance and coaching will help you track your progress and develop. You will be able to steer your career in the direction you want it to go. We will always support you as you seek to build on your strengths or tackle areas for improvement.
