PwC announces five new partners

PwC Ireland is delighted to announce the admission of five new partners to the firm. The new partners are: Ciara Breslin (Tax), John Daly (Assurance), Shane Kennedy (Assurance), Fiona Kirwan (Assurance) and Paul Moroney (Tax). The new partners are across a wide range of business areas and reflect further investment in our strong regional footprint.

Speaking at the announcement, Feargal O'Rourke, PwC Ireland Managing Partner, said: "Our five new partner appointments reflect the firm's commitment to helping our clients restore growth and recover from the biggest crisis of our generation".

Ciara Breslin becomes a Tax partner in the firm’s Foreign Direct Investment practice. With nearly 14 years of experience, including time spent leading the Irish tax desk in PwC New York, Ciara focuses primarily on advising US and Chinese multinational companies predominantly in the technology and pharmaceutical life science sectors. Her experience includes advising companies on establishing operations in Ireland, expanding their international footprint and on cross-border transactions and M&A. She leads the FDI Tax China business group for PwC Ireland. Ciara is an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute and a Solicitor and member of the Law Society of Ireland.

John Daly becomes an Assurance Partner in PwC’s Cork practice. John brings more than 20 years of experience of providing assurance services to domestic and multinational businesses across multiple sectors. John has extensive experience of reporting under multiple accounting frameworks including IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP, along with providing our regional clients with a wide breadth of assurance services. John is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Shane Kennedy becomes an Assurance Partner in the firm’s Foreign Direct Investment practice. He has 15 years of experience providing assurance services under both PCAOB and ISA auditing standards to US and Irish listed entities and large multinational clients operating in a wide range of industries including packaging, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, energy and utilities. Shane has extensive experience assisting and advising clients with complex IFRS technical accounting matters, GAAP conversions, acquisitions, disposals, carve-out financial statements, corporate reorganisations, initial public offerings, SEC registrations and debt financing transactions. Shane is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Fiona Kirwan becomes an Assurance Partner in PwC’s South-East practice. She has over 15 years of experience providing assurance and accounting advisory services to a broad range of clients, including to entities listed on the Irish and UK stock exchanges. She also has considerable experience advising clients in the Enterprise and Private Business market, advising family run and privately owned clients particularly in the Food, Pharmaceuticals and Retail and Consumer Goods sectors. Fiona is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. 

Paul Moroney becomes a Tax Partner in the firm's Domestic and International Outbound practice. Paul has over 15 years of experience in advising clients on domestic and international tax structuring. Paul's particular area of expertise includes advising global institutional investors on Irish and European real estate investment. Paul also advises domestic real estate developers on a broad range of Irish tax matters associated with Irish real estate development. Paul is an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.
