Top PwC FAE recipients are:

  • Mary McCabe, Dublin Assurance, not only wins first place in Ireland but has also won the Ulster Society Diamond Jubilee Award and Gold Medal; not only is this the third year in a row that PwC has secured first place overall in Ireland but also third year in a row for the Gold Medal. This Gold Medal is a rare achievement with only 26 being awarded in the last 132 years.
  • Lisa Barry, Dublin Assurance, Ross Duffy and Joshua O'Neill, Dublin Tax, all secured second place.
  • Daniel Maguire, Dublin Assurance and Cathal Nolan, Dublin Advisory, win joint eighth position.

The Chartered Accountancy Ireland Final Admitting Exams (FAE) are the culmination of three to four years working to secure this qualification through a combination of these professional exams and practical accounting experience.

The news today continues to build on PwC's track record for securing top ten exam placements in chartered accountancy. PwC secured first place for three years running and six of the top 10 places for the last two years. PwC has consistently secured results well above the national pass rate every year.

As one of Ireland's top graduate employers, recruiting around 350 graduates every year including during COVID-19, PwC provides a multi-year programme of exam and training support for those who decide to undertake these professional level qualifications. This exam and training support has also been an award winner in its own right, securing silver and gold positions for the gradireland Training and Development award in the last two years.

Speaking to the exam results, Managing Partner Feargal O'Rourke said: "These are stunning results and a huge congratulations to all of our people today who have achieved exam success. At our core, PwC is a learning organisation so results days like these are so important to us. This has again been a very challenging year for our people doing exams and these are fantastic results in incredible circumstances. As a firm where skills and talent are one of our top priorities, days like this endorse our investment in education and in digital skills".
