Trish Johnston is an Assurance Partner and leads PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management practice in Ireland. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the asset management industry, five of which were spent working in Bermuda, New York and London. Trish works with a large cross-section of asset management clients including asset managers, administrators and mutual and hedge fund clients. She also advises both corporate and fund clients on a range of audit, accounting and consulting engagements. Trish is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, a CFA charter holder, and holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) degree from Trinity College, Dublin.

Marie Coady is a Tax Partner in the firm’s Asset and Wealth Management practice. Marie assists international asset managers and investment banks in structuring and managing cross-border investments. Marie advises clients on a wide range of cross-border tax matters relevant to structuring mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity funds in addition to advising on the global investor taxation implications of investing in various investment products. Marie leads PwC’s Global ETF team and also leads PwC’s global asset management tax technology and transformation team for the asset management sector.

Fiona Gaskin is a Partner in the firm’s Risk Assurance practice. She has nearly 20 years’ experience in Ireland and Bermuda working with clients to provide transparent reporting to relevant stakeholders on a variety of topics. Fiona’s particular areas of expertise include risk management, internal controls and non-financial reporting. Fiona leads PwC’s services on independent control reports. She is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor as well as a Certified Internal Auditor.

Olwyn Alexander is a Partner in the Assurance practice and leads PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management practice globally. Olwyn worked internationally for many years including in Boston, Dallas and New York, specialising in alternative investments, structured products and private equity. Olwyn was a Council member for AIMA for over ten years and co-chaired the AIMA Guide to Sound Practices for Hedge Fund Valuation. She also was a member of the expert working panel for IOSCO’s principles on hedge fund valuations in 2007. Olwyn is a regular speaker on the global stage for Asset and Wealth Management and sits on PwC’s Global Financial Services leadership team as well as being the global sponsor for PwC’s Financial Services ESG initiatives. Olwyn is a member of the AIMA Sound Practices committee and a Director of CFA Society Ireland. Olwyn is also a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, obtained her Chartered Financial Analyst qualification in 2003 and recently completed her CPA qualifications.

Andrew has significant experience in the asset management industry in the US and Dublin and his clients include large US, UK and Japanese asset managers and their fund vehicles. Andrew has been actively involved in the Dublin Funds Industry since 1995 and has assisted many of the leading global players structure products in Dublin. Andrew has written and spoken widely on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry and currently specialises in providing performance improvement solutions to fund managers and service organisations. Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, England and Wales and a member of the Marketing Committee of the Irish Funds Industry Association. Andrew is also Chairman of the Competitiveness Sub-Committee of the IFIA.

Mark works in the PwC's Deals Advisory practice. He advises on acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity financing. He also provides general financial advisory services. He has spent the last seven years with PwC in the United States, advising clients on internationally-focused deals. These have been in a broad range of sectors including industrial products, retail and consumer, healthcare, technology and financial services. His clients range from privately held mid-market companies to large cap international corporations. Previous to his US secondment, Mark worked at PwC Dublin.

Andrea Kelly is an Audit Partner in our asset management practice. Andrea has over 25 years' experience in the industry and has worked in Ireland, the USA and Australia. She leads our Alternatives Asset Management Practice in Ireland and is a member of the PwC Global Alternatives management team. Andrea works with an extensive range of alternative asset management clients in Ireland promoted by US and European investment managers, covering all types of strategies and structures. Her portfolio contains both onshore and offshore funds, many of whom have complex structures, and incorporates all alternative asset classes including credit, collateralised loan obligations (CLOs), convertible arbitrage, distressed debt, funds of hedge funds, private equity and real estate. Andrea has significant consultancy experience, including product structuring advice to alternative fund managers, valuation and pricing reviews, operational control reviews and accounting engagements. Andrea is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, a member of AIMA and Vice Chair of 100 Women in Finance in Ireland.

Marie Taylor-Ghent leads our Asset Management Digital Solutions team. Marie has extensive data, analytics and technology experience, working across both industry and professional services delivering transformational results. Marie’s particular area of focus is developing technology and services in the Asset and Wealth Management sector, transforming key business processes and helping clients re-imagine how services can be delivered using data and technology. Marie is a member of the Irish Funds and is a member of the Distribution Technology Working Group.

Ken has been a Partner in the Asset and Wealth Management practice at PwC since 2001 and has been with PwC for over 30 years. During his career as an Audit Partner, Ken has worked with a range of global asset managers using Ireland as a domicile for UCITS funds, hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, ETFs, money market funds and private equity funds. In his role as a risk and regulatory advisory partner, Ken has advised a number of international asset management firms on:

• the regulatory requirements to be complied with when establishing investment funds, management companies or MiFID investment firms in Ireland

• the Central Bank of Ireland’s requirements and expectations in relation to substance, corporate governance structures, operating models, outsourcing, risk management and compliance frameworks

• the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism requirements applicable to Irish regulated financial services firms

• the prudential regulatory capital requirements and ICAAP requirements, which apply to Irish regulated financial services firms

Ken has been involved with the Irish Funds Association (Irish Funds) for many years, serving on a number of committees and working groups, and served as Chairman in 2011–2012. He currently chairs Irish Funds’ MiFID Investment Firms working group.

Liam is a Partner in PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management Assurance practice in Dublin. He has over 20 years’ experience providing audit and non-audit services to investment funds, asset managers and their fund service providers. Liam also leads the Broader Assurance Services practice for the Asset and Wealth Management practice in Dublin. As the partner responsible for Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services, Liam has advised his clients in the following areas:

• technical accounting advice with respect to specific transactions, the implementation of new accounting standards and GAAP conversions
• as subject matter expert on the Client Asset Regulations in Ireland, including completion of the annual client asset examination, root and branch reviews of client asset functions, assistance with drafting client asset management plans and advising on the regulations
• providing assurance over regulatory filings, such as minimum capital requirement reports and fund mergers

Dervla McCormack is a Partner in the Advisory practice, specialising in business strategy. Dervla is an economist and has project-managed large implementation and change management projects. She has significant experience in preparing and reviewing business plans, undertaking sectoral studies, feasibility studies, socio-economic studies, market analysis assignments, organisational reviews, market entry strategies and operational reviews. Dervla is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
